Birdcage and Cupcake Tower Wedding Cake
This is the wedding cake I made for Sara and Fran for their wedding reception at Summerhill House Hotel, Wicklow.
The main cake was two tiers and shaped like a bird cage, made from lemon sponge with homemade lemon curd and vanilla butter cream and finished off with hand made roses and a silk ribbon.
There were also 60 cupcakes in a variety of styles on a six tier cupcake tower standing almost three feet tall. Handmade cups and saucers, dulce de leche cupcakes, lemon curd and buttercream mini cakes.
It was a very elegant cake and definitely one of the more unusual wedding cakes I've been asked to make.
